Track Of The Day THE SILENT BOYS
Longtime staples of the Richmond, Virginia underground rock scene since the mid-80s, guitar pop virtuoso The Silent Boys, led by frontman and composer Wallace Dietz, herald the upcoming ninth album, “Lightning Bugs Are Smiling”, due on November 6, 2026, co-released by Too Good To Be True Records and Shelflife Records, with the first excerpt, “Soul Of The Sea”.
The lyrics, with a great eye for detail, describe being in a house by the sea that holds present-day fascinations along with fond childhood memories.
“Soul Of The Sea” sparkles and wobbles with engaging melodious charm on beautifully persistent, rubbery bass pulses and steadfast drum beats, inlaid with hypnotic clean-cut, jangled guitar lines, layered with the buzzing, crushed glow of moody keyboard ramblings around excited, layered male vocals, shifting to baritone spoken words, imbued with a sense of joy, innocence, and longing.
The Silent Boys‘ 9th LP, “Lightning Bugs Are Smiling”, is scheduled to be released (ltd. CD / Vinyl 12″ & Digital) on November 6, 2026, via Too Good To Be True Records (EU) and Shelflife Records (US).
