Dazzled is an up-and-coming shoegaze outfit from Budapest, formed in 2024.
The Hungarian four piece, made of Laura Szegedi (vocals), Laura Szomolányi (bass), János Sárándi (guitar), and Dezső Bálint Vígh (drums), blends the vibrant, textured guitar surge of shoegaze and the heightened, ethereal drift of dream-pop into a cohesive, emotionally drenched whole.
After last year’s debut EP “Early Reflection”, the enveloping and transporting aural soundscape of the new single, “Soft Focus,” uses the sun and sea to evoke awareness and forgetfulness through a lens of timeless love.
Studded with the resonant, wistful echoes from scintillating, chiming guitar chords, dreamy, aching female vocals harshly fluctuate in and out on the swaying drive of crisp, steadfast drum beats and sinuous humming bass pulses, washed over by pearly blankets of buzzing distortion swelling with a raw, painful edge, into an endless, dark vast vortex of moody melancholy.
