WL//WH Video Of The Day: REVENGE BODY “Wild”

Video Of The Day  REVENGE BODY

Revenge Body, the Devotional Darkwave solo act of Sev Phillips, from New London, Connecticut, returns to WL//WH with a DIY video for the nostalgic Synth-Pop single “Wild,”  taken from the forthcoming album “Venus of the Dark”, a highly moving, 80s-tinged bygone Synth-Pop motif, “dedicated to the melancholic black bile of winter.”

Nostalgic and darkly emotional cinematic moods somberly bounce on the repetitive, hypnotic tempo lead by tinny, lashing beats and heavily buzzy bass throbs laced with forlorn chimey stabs, whilst eerie, flimsy synth drones slowly surround haunted heartfelt vocals, and gloomy broods, asking a person who ran away “Won’t You Come Home.”

The symbolic DIY video, enhanced by the analogue effects by Micky Longcoy, manifests the dual themes of “Wild”, Veronica Lake, and the sudden appearance of a light in a long abandoned house, with a dramatic performance by Revenge Body under an array of shapeshifting techniques. Optical illusions from strobe lights and computer-generated effects bring forth an old school séance vibe while black and white overlays appear like visions giving insight into the lyrical mystery of the soundtrack.
