WL//WH Track Of The Day: KINET “Spectres”

Track Of The Day  KINET

Up-and-coming act from the Italian gothic scene, Kinet, the DIY Darkwave duo of Cristian Gasparini & Luca Marini from Verona, drop the poignant and sorrowful earnest mourn of the new single “Spectres.”

Rooted in the 80s new wave and contemporary dark electronics, inspired by bands such as Twin Tribes, Sisters Of Mercy, The Cure, Bauhaus, and She Past Away, the pair create romantic yet unsettling soundscapes, where each track is a memory resurfacing in the darkness.

The song is a sonic and psychological exploration of the darkest territories of the human soul. The track stems from the need to give a voice to those hidden, secret, and often disowned sides that each of us shelters deep within. In a society that constantly pushes toward an artificial and blinding overexposure, this song moves in the opposite direction, celebrating the allure of our inner mystery that makes all of us unique…the band explains

Brimming with emotional density and an intimate, painful introspection,  “Spectres” deploys an urgent, skipping, hard-hitting drum machine and taut, moody bass lines that mechanically churn and pulse under a ceremonial veil, layered with a rainfall of ethereal, piercing guitar bleeds, eerie synth glows, and melancholic drifts to delve into the hidden, disowned inward darkness imbued by solemn, wistful male vocals, perpetually suffering against vengeful spoken words.
