WL//WH Track Of The Day: THE LANGUAGE OF MY LOVE “Yeah Sometime”

WL//WH Track Of The Day  THE LANGUAGE OF MY LOVE

The enigmatic ‘Motorik Maximal Wave’ project from Europe, made of Philadelphia-native electronic musician Mammoths Nests and the singer/lyricist Phillippo, re-emerges with the new single, “Yeah Sometime,” backed by a remix from Swiss experimental electronicists Plague Pits.

“Yeah Sometime,” lyrically, is about yearning to meet with a close friend through the stance of letting love begin again.

Balancing tension with catharsis, the track wraps in an immersive, stirring atmosphere where ethereal vocals revolve around the repetitive, stripped-down rhythmic spine as flowing synths streak, shiver, and shimmer somberly along the frame.

Skeletal clockwork drum patterns and muffled bubbling low ends ceaselessly pulse, awash with glowing, expansive layers of transcendent, desolate synthesizers, soaked in luminescent, chimey, melancholic melodies, on which glide lush, dreamy female vocals of deep aching sadness, emitting vibrant, rippling echoes, before submerging beneath an oscillating swell of bouncing drones then reemerging to state, “we will meet again.”

Rather than employing the original’s lyrics and vocals, the distinctive tinkly and buzzy, fleetingly drum-beat-driven, Plague Pits rework uses surreal, casual spoken words that mainly say ‘life lasts but a moment’, to collide with an aloof, un-waiting tone.
