WL//WH Video Of The Day THE SICK MAN OF EUROPE
Following last year’s acclaimed self-titled debut album, London, UK-based post-punk unit The Sick Man of Europe heralds the forthcoming sophomore full-length “The Intermittent Signal”, a call to reject the attention economy to reconnect through community and organization, with the first single, “Negative Stimuli,” paired with a DIY Video.

The British outfit refines its distinctive sonic crossroads where Krautrock, Post-punk and Psychedelia mould into each other into something cathartic, transformative and thought-provoking.
Sonorous wobbling bass loops intertwine with hypnotic crisp mid-tempo drum patterns, pulsing like an unswerving steadfast signal, while light tinny guitar streaks and clattery, shivering synth sequences slowly emerge and direly reverberate around sad, aggravated male vocals mesmerically revealing, at times rhythmically chanting about the toxic state of world affairs, to melt away against a stern, sinisterly resonant last frequency.

In the DIY visuals, The Sick Man of Europe sits at a desk in a shadow silhouette form with a microphone against a white strobing backdrop. The view splits into three rectangles, and the lyrics are blurry due to double vision. Along the way, television ads about convenience, competition, perfection, and comfort appear with phone numbers, credit card logos, and modern technology to seamlessly bring forth the conflict of the soundtrack.
The Sick Man of Europe‘s second studio album, “The Intermittent Signal,” is slated to be released (ltd. CD & Vinyl 12″) on September 25, 2026 via The Leaf Label.
