Video Of The Day ETHEREAL GONE KIDS
Ethereal Gone Kids, the fairly new Shoegaze/ Indie Post Punk four piece made of Rigby Gray, Sam Haddon, Jordan Bajinskis, and Zac Horton, from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia, drops an Official Video directed by Mika Huggett for their third single, “She’s Way Too Cool.”
Fuzzy shoegaze and sparkly indie rock swirl together with a thick, noisy unrest throughout, plunging deep into a heady vortex, blending layered echoing guitars and infectious nostalgic melodies into a hazy fog that’s simultaneously dreamy and vibrant.

A rush of fear, insecurity, and regret drives obsessive sparkling guitars to eagerly ring out over buzzing mists rising from tumultuous, punchy drum beats and nervous bass pulses, into shrilling sinewy wails, whilst angsty, gloomy male vocals achingly brood with faint echoing back-ups that reveal she’s ‘too cool for you, too cold for me.’
In the visuals shot by Mika Huggett, a young man, played by Samuel Troisi, has trouble keeping up with the wild and rushed ways of a pretty blonde, played by Lauren Read. After the newness of the situation wears off, reality sets in as the girl’s drinking and joking now appears self-absorbed and uncaring. Rather than continue to follow her around and film everything she does, Troisi returns the camera to Read at a packed venue where Ethereal Gone Kids perform “She’s Way Too Cool” in front of a packed audience.
