WL//WH Track Of The Day: HER LOVING AFTERTASTE “Hot Head”

WL//WH Track Of The Day  HER LOVING AFTERTASTE

An ‘improvised song transformed into a full studio recording’, “Hot Head” is the first endevour via the renowned Haarlem-based, Dutch label/shop/community Geertruida Records, by Amsterdam-based songwriter, lyricist, guitarist and lead vocalist Aidan Cosmo Penman, drummer Rubi Groen and bassist Tudor Mureșan, together as her loving aftertaste, to capture the deeper essence of their 70s and 90s inflected fresh guitar-driven Rock and Roll sound: ‘unfiltered, noisy, melancholic rock that recalls an era long before they were born.’

Thoroughly vibrant, brooding, and gripping, full of infectious, groovy scrubbing riffs, moody, sultry bass lines, and tight, hypnotic drumming, commanded by a soulful, brash, magnetic vocal delivery, reminiscent of the punk‘n’roll high-energy from Joan Jett or Kathleen Hanna.

A slow building emotional burst of engrossing, utterly dynamic and electrifying alternative rock, steeped in simmering and abrasive shoegaze guitar textures, which meanders through intricate layers of twangy, grunge-y, brassy and reverberating tones, to soar in high-wailing, excruciating leads alongside edgy, defiant, tough spoken words, to conjure the frustrations of young adulthood through a lens of reckless, raging impulsiveness, immediate gratification, and hard-partying times.

Keep up with her loving aftertaste:
