A collaboration between the Essen, Germany-based, Portuguese-native multi-instrumentalist, lyricist and vocalist Nino Sable (Aeon Sable, Echoes in Reverse), fresh from his solo endeavor Melanculia, and the Italian musician and dark electronic music producer from Prato, Ermete Lo Stige, under his audiovisual Electro-Wave moniker Velena Drohm (beats, music), merges two different approaches into one nocturnal experience in the new vibrant dark electro-wave song/video “Ghosts.”

The track intriguingly combines Sable‘s moody esoteric wisdom of darkness with Velena Drohm‘s club-minded, high-strung, industrial-charged rhythmic propulsion, racing through dangerously swirling ghostly atmospherics and a synth melody that cycles through waves of dire saturation, shivering anxiety, and gloomy doom, whilst a haunting vocal interplay, where harsh mean whispers taunt and torture brooding cries into agony, explains the emptiness and fear felt by losing a sacred love.
In the paired visuals, a trip on the North/South Canadian interstate 397 toward Despinassy leads to a chapel/cemetery in the woods where devotional Christian statues intermingle with symbolic handmade natural ornaments. The vision plays on a jagged, strobing loop that syncs with the disconnected tribulation of the soundtrack. A slow, wobbly ascent from a graveyard up a flight of stairs is highlighted along with these clues: a pine cone, superimposed bars over a figure who looks upward, a crucifix, an eye tangled in vines, the crown of thorns, the Holy Mother with hands clasped, and an old yellow school bus.
