WL//WH Video of the Day AMELIA AND THE HOUSEWIVES
Formed in May 2024 when Amelia met Lola at a Julie London/Peter & The Test Tube Babies tribute night at the Valley Social Centre and decided to start a band. Amelia & The Housewives, the Brighton, UK-based female-fronted guitar-driven Indie-Pop collective made of Fintan, Jonny, Steve, Amelia, Lola, Tim, and Dan, returns with a video filmed and directed by Orla Fitzpatrick for “Narcissist”, the first single from the long-awaited self-titled debut album “Amelia & The Housewives”, due out October 2nd, via INH Records.

The band has cranked out another bright, fresh and nostalgic sun-kissed summer song, absolutely infectious, this time about a difficult relationship.
Steady mid-tempo rhythms and humming bass pulses fuel sparkling waves of clear-cut, scratchy and jagged, sizzling guitar riffs and cascading tinkling keys, to radiate, scraping yet caressing, resonant shimmery mists against Amelia’s signature lush and vibrant vocals, uplifted by layers of fluffy celestial backups and a soulful chorus, to explain ‘how hard it is going out with a narcissist.’

The paired visuals, filmed and directed by Orla Fitzpatrick, set a comedic performance by Amelia and Lola, wearing hats and sunglasses from The Lola Store, against a cheerful backdrop, to sync with the colorful vibe of the soundtrack. A strange meal of sugary sweets combines with lyric cards for the wrong song, and a ‘catch the candy’ in the mouth game to break the listener free from serious mind engagements into a spirit of fun and cheer.
Keep up with Amelia and the Housewives:
