WL//WH Track Of The Day POZHAR
Active for over a decade, Пожар / POZHAR, the solo DIY endeavor of the Saint Petersburg, Russia-based musician and composer Misha Pozhar, returns after a two-year hiatus with the new track“Серебро (Silver).”
With only a full-length in 2018, but plenty of EPs and singles under his belt, beyond the side project Блеск and being part of A Lonely Place and Glaswen, the project creates an intimate and visceral sound that blends simmering moody post-punk energy, wintry coldwave tapestries, and hazy textural shoegaze atmospherics.
“Серебро (Silver)” is about the desire to flee from, and being burdened by, a deep sorrow brought into being by an intense reflection.
Swelling with somber emotions, the song creeps along with a resonant haunting bass line, joined by tight, mechanized beats, providing a relentless pulsing undercurrent of deep regret, draped in sparse, spacious buzzy synths and effect-filled forlorn guitars, achingly echoing alongside earnest sad male vocals, softly languishing in agonizing devotion.
