WL//WH Track Of The Day: MATRUKK “Diavoleide” [Cat Cave Records]

Track Of The Day  MATRUKK

Matrukk, the dark electronic project of Cagliari, Italy-born DJ and producer Matteo Girometti, who blends club music, new wave, and ’80s synths, returns with a new single inspired by Mikhail Bulgakov’s satirical masterpiece, “Diavoleide,”  to transport the listener into a smoky, surreal theatre.

Driven by a more straightforward, club-minded attitude, compared to the previous “In the shadow of neon light”, while maintaining an eerie emotional depth and obscure wicked intensity throughout, the track “embodies the chaotic, hypnotic duality of the diabolical Mutandoner and the desperate frenzy of Korotkov”.

“Diavoleide” spills into ghostly Dark Disco realms propelled by rattling, thumping, snappy beats and dangerous, bouncy bass lines, throbbing seamlessly with the mesmeric drifting swathes of desolate synths and flashy anxious swirls, pierced by echoing wistful guitar strains, while secretive, shadowy male spoken words talk about how people hide their devilishness in the hallucinated lost hallways of the office.

Matrukk‘s new single, “Diavoleide,” is out digitally on the major streaming platforms via his own label, Cat Cave Records.

Keep up with Matrukk:
