After over a month’s break, the North Carolina dark music project of guitarist, singer and songwriter Hunter Blondin a.k.a. Saiph, returns with his distinctive sensual and hauntingly atmospheric Goth-infused Darkwave sound, through the single “Silver Eyes”, about the vampire soul, cloaked in a hypnotic droning aura.
Metronomic lashing snare beats and crisp clicking rolling percussions, awash in buzzing and chugging bass oscillations, pulse on the brooding, dusky backdrop drawn by eerie ghostly synth and sparkling melancholic guitar arpeggios, that fade in and out from the menacing hissing haze, flourishing with bleeding chords around ceremonial baritone vocals and menacing whispers, trying to find out why “Silver Eyes” are in my face tonight.
With due calm and restraint, the North Carolina artist continues to distil deeply atmospheric darkwave laced with a gloomy allure, that each time acquires additional intriguing nuances; still a work in progress, but absolutely one to follow closely.
