Track Of The Day WARAHENEGE
Warahenege, the Manchester, UK-based solo bedroom pop project of Sri-Lanka-bred multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter Praveen Somarathne, returns after a three year break, with the new single, “AIMOE”.
Through its lush, soulful yet vibrant soundscape, the song nourishes a glowing, hazy, immersive dream pop delight that charms with its lambent guitar work and existential soul-stirring brooding vibes, acknowledging that oneself and others are not perfect.
“AIMOE” unfolds in an intimate bittersweet reflection, saturated in forlorn emotion, swaying on shuffling drum patterns, under a scintillating drizzle of poignant sparkling guitar melodies, ghostly keyboard shivers and tinkly piano keydrops, punctuated by achingly bracing brass flourishes, and wandering crispier heart-rending leads, alongside strained, pensive vocals, anxiously mourning the betrayal of a loved one, cloaked in a lingering sense of pain, frustration, and sorrow.
