WL//WH New Music: TRACY BRYANT “Widow” (Official Video)

WL//WH New Music  Tracy Bryant

California singer-songwriter Tracy Bryant, a staple of the Los Angeles underground rock scene, renowned as the founder and frontman of the early 2010s Echo Park’s Garage/Post-punk group Corners, unveils an Official Video for “Widow,” the second excerpt from the forthcoming fourth studio album “The Well,” produced by Joo-Joo Ashworth (Froth) and scheduled for release on May 22, 2026, via his own label, Taxi Gauche Records.

“The Well” marks a striking new chapter, trading his signature guitar-driven sound for piano-led songwriting that took root during the pandemic. The album was born out of one of the most turbulent periods of his life, written in the wake of his father’s sudden passing and the birth of his first child.

Tracy Bryant has developed an off-kilter, sober and expressive shapeshifting songwriting, yet rooted in orthodox patterns, to assemble sounds and moods with a refined, broad array of timbres and textures, through an atmospheric and cinematic confluence of indie rock, post-punk, krautrock and psychedelic suggestions.

The death of his Father invokes the saturated, doom-laden emotions of the “Widow”, powering along the effortless hypnotic pace of shuffling, cymbal-accented, tinny motorik beats and engrossing humming looping bass pulses, layered with shadowy pads, dim yet haunting and wistful piano tones and restless, downcast synth swells, to soak aching, fearful male vocals, soothed by ghostly female backings, in feelings of heartbreak, loss of identity, and uncertainty.

The visuals begin with a curved black-and-white checkered wall, topped by reflective glass to evoke the duality and introspection of the soundtrack. Then, a grey, hazy cloak hangs atop a natural scenic skyline as a car, driving at dramatically shifting speeds, travels from the hills to the city on SR 126 in California.

Tracy Bryant‘s fourth studio album, “The Well,” will be released, Vinyl 12″ & Digital, on May 22, 2026, via Taxi Gauche Records.
