WL//WH Track Of The Day: SONIC THING “Black Moon”

Track Of The Day SONIC THING

South of France‘s multi-instrumentalist and composer Nicolas, former vocalist and guitarist of Paradise Cove, under his Sonic Thing moniker, returns with a new single, “Darkness Dancers,” from the forthcoming work-in-progress debut album “Breathe in, Breathe out.”

Amidst anthemic hooks and catchy riffs filled with inexorably familiar bents, yet definitely fresh and urgent, the French musician treads through Post Punk and Darkwave shades with an underlying heartfelt dark passion ceaselessly pulsing underneath.

The song places a gripping, jagged, wailing guitar work and sweeping, desolate synth patterns over the vibrant driving foundation of hypnotic, punchy programmed beats and gritty, warbling bass lines, to epically soar atop tormented, emotional male vocals, restlessly accepting the call of the “Black Moon” until the ‘night becomes dawn.’
