WL//WH Video Premiere: S:BAHN Examine Nostalgia For an Uncertain Past in “The Eventualities”

WL//WH Premiere S:BAHN

Veteran Melbourne, Australia-based post-punk lifers, made of Dik (guitar, vocals), Denis Leadbeater (drums), and Rene Schaefer (bass), return with a video for “The Eventualities”, the lead and title track of the latest 2-song offering, that together with the flip, “Made to Break”, forms the second installment in a triptych of singles scheduled for release across the Winter of 2026, which WL//WH is pleased to Premiere.

“The Eventualities” examines nostalgia for an uncertain past, asking the questions: What is your history? Can you trust memories? Did somebody take a photo?

“The Eventualities” unfolds steady shifting drumming and humming bleak bass lines, that ground reflective layers of distorted guitars, achingly scraping and stretching on strident, poignant riffs, to surround expressive, sentimental male vocals, dripping with blows of frustration, sadness, and longing.

The companion video is presented as a digital scrapbook, topped with a segmented, mismatched face, composed of distinct images, that singsThe Eventualities in sync with the soundtrack. It conjures up the content of the lyrics by explaining how everyone’s memory of a past event has a different perspective or proportionality to it. Underneath the skewed fragments lie animated photos of friendly outings and momentous events, injected with an 80s punk rock vibe.
