WL//WH Track Of The Day SCHOOL OF DESIGN
Formed in 2025, Atlanta, Georgia-based School of Design is a new collaborative project between five longtime friends and veteran musicians of the local underground rock scene, namely Samantha Kranz on vocals, Brett Miotti (Riot for Romance) on bass, Luke Thornton (Secret Towns) on guitar/keys, Matt Turner on guitar, and Dustin Ragland (Young Weather) on drums and percussion.
“After the Warmth,” the first song unveiled, part of the incoming debut double A-side 7″ single “After The Warmth b/w Slowdance” is a haunting introspection about the deep sadness, numbness, instinctive reaching out, and emptiness that slowly sink in after a relationship ends.

Deeply immersive and introspective, “After the Warmth” coaxes you in with soul stirring harmonies and airy, nostalgic, intricate jangly guitar parts that intertwine seamlessly with gauzy enveloping shoegaze washes.
Steady shuffling drum beats and sinuously warm bass pulses slip away along with reflective and reverberating wistful sparkling guitar shimmers that weave in and out with fuzzed-out brushes of invigorating, hazy blankets, and layers of fragile, heartfelt female vocals, struggling with tumultuous, emotional ripples of yearning and grief.
School of Design‘s debut 2-track single, “After The Warmth b/w Slowdance”, recorded & mixed by Damon Moon at Standard Electric
and mastered by Simon Scott, is available, ltd. 7″ vinyl & Digital, via the band’s Bandcamp.
