Those Holy, the Liverpool, UK-based goth-tinged Cold Wave duo made up of Welsh producer Chrissy Connor (FEND, formerly of LONESAW and co-founder of local venue, QUARRY) and singer Lucy Grey (Majia, Dubs Club), rolls out the lead single, “New Skin,” recorded live to tape at The Lightning Cave, paired with the Official Video, directed by Emily Lomas, to herald the August 28th release of their debut EP “Cold Celtic Electronics.”

Beneath any mask, anyone is capable of intense feelings of obsession that can completely consume them. The track is about what happens when those feelings take over, the ugliness, the desperation, the absolute loss of control.Grey says

A crisp, sharp and compulsive industrial-flecked slice of cold minimal electronica, “New Skin” staggers its electrifying way through wobbling, droning bass lines that throb unremittingly, struck by clattering and knocking, marching drum programming, to anchor cold, emotionless female vocals that divert to an eerie, tortured sensuality, thirsting with panting breaths, haunted by icy, high-pitched layers of stuttering, obsessive frequencies.

In the Official Video directed by Emily Lomas, Those Holy perform “New Skin” under blood-red strobing lights. Disturbing, fear-inducing sex clips mix with dirt and raw meat imagery to rapidly jerk in an unnatural motion that syncs with the momentum shifts in the soundtrack.

Those Holy‘s upcoming debut EP, “Cold Celtic Electronics,” is due on July 28th. The pre-launch show will take place at Liverpool‘s Quarry on 27th August. Tickets available exclusively on DICE.
