Mirror Hands, a newcomer Post-punk band from Hämeenlinna, Finland, follow up last year’s self-titled debut EP with the new single, “Nothing Left.”
Imbued with the stark, stripped-down, atmospheric greyish aesthetic of ’80s British Post-punk, laced with Nordic glacial, wind-swept landscapes, the duo, emphasising mood and repetition, engrave barren, hypnotic, misty soundscapes of haunted, tormented introspection, inhabited with desolation and angst, strained somehow with poetic melancholy.
A meandering, moody bassline pulses somberly, slapped by a tight, at times clapping, mechanical drum programming, carved by bleeding, pointed guitar melodies that desolately ring and resonate in the chilly cold ether, with icy spectral synth breaths, around devotional male vocals pondering meaning, hope, feeling, and joy under the light of ‘something more than just being alive.’
