WL//WH New Music: FAKE BLISS “Angelface”

New Music  FAKE BLISS

Barcelona‘s Shoegaze outfit Fake Bliss returns, two years after the debut album, “Flowers Keep Growing in My Room”, with the one-off single, “Angelface,” which will not be included on the second full-length, whose recordings are planned for the start of next year.

Bridging Post-hardcore, Grunge and Shoegaze, the trio’s new offering is quite different from how we remember it, steeped in more abrasive, aggressive, noisier tones, defined by blazing guitars, driving rhythms and a visceral vocal delivery.

The lyrics talk about gatekeepers and fake people in cultural and musical scenes.

Conceived as a song for “having fun on stage,” “Angelface” roars and echoes towards a storm of crushing riffs that rage on within an intense and seething wall of sound, carved with screeching, anguished edges, in which drowsy, restless male vocals stew before a spoken-word descent into ephemeral echoes, leading to an excruciating, strained explosion into fury.

In the paired visuals by Vicent Torres, Fake Bliss delivers an energetic performance of “Angelface” in a large room with ivory walls and big sunlit windows. Oversaturated light bathes the trio in illumination whilst significant choral lyrics appear in red Gothic script. At the end, the vision becomes blinding and white, with tearing, disconnected frequencies, syncing seamlessly with the explosive finale of the soundtrack.

Keep up with Fake Bliss:
