Track Of The Day BIKE CRASH LOVERS
With a name drawn from a firsthand failed robbery attempt, Bike Crash Lovers are a newcomer London-based duo, formed by British-Belgian couple Alex and Ming, who met while studying at music school.
Both active in London‘s alternative band scene, they created the project as an outlet for the more electronic, dance-driven side of music they couldn’t explore with their own bands.
Inspired by artists including Warpaint, Fcukers, Nabihah Iqbal and DIIV, Bike Crash Lovers blur the lines between alternative rock and electronic music, combining drum machines, shimmering guitars, synths and layered vocals into immersive, rhythmic songs. Their music is rooted as much in the atmosphere of dream pop as it is in the energy of the dancefloor, written for listeners who love guitar music but aren’t afraid to move.

A love song at its core, the pair’s debut single talks about waiting longer than ever before for the one.
Stirred and swayed by a downtempo backdrop of snaky, moody, rubbery bass pulses alongside crispy, hypnotic programmed beats, a fluttering, twinkling trickle of insistent overlapping, clean, plucked guitar grooves encompasses every ounce of yearning, with both warm and weightless emotional intensity, from rich, wistful female vocals, anxiously aching, at times layered with distorted male echoes, to explore letting things naturally fall into place rather than obsessively searching.
