WL//WH Premiere VIOLET NOX
Violet Nox, the Boston, Massachusetts-based Electronic/Dream Pop trio made of Dez DeCarlo (synthesis, effect pedals), Andrew Abrahamson (synthesis, samples, clocked machines), and Noell Dorsey (vocals and lyrics) returns to WL//WH with a Remix by Jonathan Santarelli for “Stranger” the final song on the 2024 album “Hesperia,” via Somewherecold Records (US) and Aumega Project (Germany).
Violet Nox “Stranger” Remix by Jonathan Santarelli expands into a lush, Deep House heady dance number, that dives into a warped invigorating bath of kaleidoscopic bubbling pads driven by warm bouncy bass lines and crispy, hop skipping percussions, awashed by a vibrant slow swirling whirlwind cast in the original song’s whimsical fluting synth flutters and soulful layered vocals, speeding up the body pace whilst keeping with Violet Nox’s sultry, brooding dream-like intensity.
A wonderfully imagined animated companion video by Allison Tanenhaus uses her otherworldly artwork to build a fantastical realm inhabited by an array of pink cats where twin suns and Asian blossoms surround a placid crystalline river upon which the viewer floats down whilst inside a translucent bubble.
