WL//WH Premiere: TRANSMIGRATION Explores the Burden of Expectations and Identity in “Understanding” (Official Music Video)

WL//WH Premiere TRANSMIGRATION

Following the first EP, ” Living Information,” in 2024, the London-based solo artist Transmigration have perfected a dissonant and demented yet danceable take on Body Music and Electro-Industrial in the upcoming sophomore EP “Living Information,” slated for release on June 5th via Lost Wisdom, teased by an Official Music Video for the new single “Understanding,” WL//WH is pleased to premiere.

Transmigration combines dense, brooding synths and harsh rhythmic samples, metallic percussion and strained vocals that sound like emanations from some sick, mutated creature.

“Understanding” builds on the previous material, featuring the same noisy rhythms but allowing some more uplifting melodies and vulnerable moments to seep in through the chaos.

The gnarled and booming track expands over the increasingly hypnotic swirling intensity of resonant icy plucking synth chimes underlined by sneakingly doom-laden throbbing wobbly bass loops, along with the clattering mid-tempo shuffle of thumping broken beats, to ground choppy, anxious vocals, rising in distorted anger toward an unhinged rant about the heavy weight of expectations and defining oneself, against layers of taunting echoes and evil airless whispers.

In the visuals, Transmigration performs “Understanding” under an array of symbolic lights and shadows. The vision travels from a surreal, sun-drenched city view to a white hospital bed with a blindfold. Then, a dark, introspective area with an X-ray of a beating heart alternates with a dissociative, strobing confusion before a grey, colourless state takes hold. The cycle repeats, becoming more harrowing over time, to finally cause an explosion of the heart during the furious chant at the end of the soundtrack.

Transmigration‘s forthcoming second EP, Living Information,” will be released on June 5th through Lost Wisdom.

The release show is scheduled for June 11th at the legendary London venue The Old Blue Last, via ClubTheMammoth.
