WL//WH Video Of The Day : ANTIPOLE ‘Shadow Lover (feat. Paris Alexander)’

I didn’t see anything exciting today, so I’m going to peak a video from few days ago from one of my favourite band, Antipole, that I’m following since its mysterious and instrumental early days.

The video develops as a mesmerizing, engaging walk around British post-industrial city landscapes, that reminds me the unique feeling that I tried when for the first time, after dreaming it for so long, I walked on the same wet pavements of the same misty and fascinating streets of Manchester, made of terraced houses and decadent industrial brick buildings, where the best part of my beloved punk and post-punk imaginary was born and developed. The pulsating steady bass lines, the mechanical beats, the mind-melting and layering guitar chords, some spray of synth and the gloomy vocals of ‘Shadow Lover’ would have been the most appropriate soundtrack of those precious and memorable moments.

The Norwegian project from Trondheim of Karl Morten Dahl has just released its debut album “Northern Flux” via the Barcelona’s Unknown Pleasure Records, a hypnotic, melodic, emotional Postpunk/Coldwave little jewel that will soothe your hungry dark soul.
