WL//WH Video Premiere Higher Lows
WL//WH is pleased to premiere the video release for the new single “Fahrenheit 450”, recorded, filmed, performed and mixed by Jon Bernson and Jason Kick at Tunnel Vision, Oakland, CA and The Space Program, San Francisco, CA.
Winding mechanical auto-generated rhythms wind peppy repetitive beats with high-strung synth swirls quivering shamelessly from the memory banks of thrift store Casio keyboards to form an urgent and spectacular backdrop for the charming, yet sarcastic male vocals dripping in sentimental metaphors.
Dystopian video exposes the eerie parallels between Ray Bradbury’s dystopian classic “Fahrenheit 451” and today’s shallow existence, blending black and white video clips, pip editing techniques, and stark cold reality into the mix of disturbing revelations.
Historical footage cast in violence, public protest, and general political savagery storms the screen, while a dramatic musical performance transition memorable retro movements and nostalgic landmarks into a time-lapsed tapestry travelling through past decades into wall street meltdowns and a world left in environmental ruin at the hands of mass consumer modernism.
