Jesus Lives In Vegas, the Nancy-based, French Coldwave band led by Christophe Lacroix (guitars, bass, keyboards, programming, all vocals and backing vocals), unveils the first excerpt, “Mind,” lifted from the upcoming second album, “Hope Is A Distant Ghost,” scheduled for release on September 25th via Masse Noire Records & Meidosem Records, the follow-up to the 2024 debut LP, “Joy or Sorrow”.

The single is paired with an Official Video directed by Benjamin Lecarpentier and photographed by Arthur Jan.

“Mind”, lyrically a description of a hotel room where a sleepless night leads to feelings of betrayal, falsity and emptiness, thrives on tension and feverish emotional intensity.

It builds around a doom-laden rumbling bass line with hard-hitting beats, punctuated by resonant, glistening forlorn guitar melodies layered with eerie, warped synths, that blink around haunted, restless vocals, searching for a connection in the face of lingering lies and regret.

The Official Video, directed by Benjamin Lecarpentier and photographed by Arthur Jan, begins with Jesus Lives In Vegas standing on a dusty road looking up at a cliff that he is about to climb. Then, a combat boot grounds his weight on a rocky ridge before propelling him upward toward the final destination. He pauses briefly to look at the sun on the other side of the ridge before intently returning to his mission. When he finally reaches the top, he inspects a deep vertical crack in the stone before turning to look from whence he came. Down on the dirt path, we see him, the lone black-clad figure, arriving to repeat the action over and over again, syncing seamlessly with the struggle of the soundtrack.

Jesus Lives In Vegas‘ second studio album, “Hope Is A Distant Ghost”,  is due out on September 25th, in Vinyl 12″ /CD and Cassette formats, via Masse Noire Records & Meidosem Records.
