Torturetwinn, the existential musical alter ego of Virginia-based independent multi-instrumentalist and producer Andrew Devin Georgieff, unveils an Official Music Video, filmed on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, by himself (editor, videographer) and Juan Diego Barreto (videographer), for “Walk”, the second single since last March’s sophomore album, “Feeler.”
The DIY musician churns out a moody, viscerally emotional, invigorating ’80s-tinged melodic guitar rock, set at the intersection of ragged indie/alternative rock’n’roll energy, dark cinematic post-punk/new wave aesthetics and jangly power-pop vibrancy, augmented by earnest, expressive, heart-on-sleeve storytelling that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.
“Walk” is a song about leaving a person who is a bad influence in order to take control of one’s own life.
Steady stomping drum beats compel energetically strummed, shimmery arpeggiated, and poignant sparkling guitar riffs that bleed and sharply reverberate around emotional, vulnerable male vocals, anxiously fluttering and roughly brooding before triumphantly soaring into a celestial high.
In the visuals, filmed along the Outer Banks of North Carolina by Andrew Devin himself and Juan Diego Barreto, Torturetwinn delivers a passionate performance while driving in his Jeep. After he leaves the car to walk around and play the guitar, perception shifts between deep, bright colors and flat black-and-white contrasts. Transformative overlays of a flowing road on top of the beach smooth the senses into a forward motion culminating in a breathtaking sunrise bathed in purple skies.
