Five years since their latest single, “Bodies”, La Rissa, a UK Synth-Pop /Dark Wave duo from Bradford, returns with the new track, “Surrender”, the first foretaste of a forthcoming 5-track EP.
The two-piece, made up of Larissa Drodz (synth, vocals) and Thomas Cuthbertson (drums), delivers their fiercest material to date, a soundtrack charged with ‘villain era energy’.
Pulling equally from moody darkwave and cinematic synth-pop, La Rissa creates infectious modern dark pop, fusing organic driving rhythms and lush icy analog synths with a commanding, soulful vocal delivery.

Ceaseless shifting drum beats propel wavy buzzing low ends, and whirling glowing arpeggiated synth chords, to spin and pulse with haunting melodies around evocative, powerful female vocals that draw from a deep emotional well of anger, fear, anxiety, and, finally, a beautiful fall into surrender, exploring the dynamic aftermath of an intimate betrayal.
