Video Of The Day THE WAY TO NOWHERE
The Way to Nowhere, the up-and-coming Dark Wave /Electro Wave brainchild of Bari, Italy-based young musician and composer David Girone, drops an Official Video by Antonio Colella, for the new single “Decay”, the follow-up to last year’s debut album, “Unwired Despair”, via Swiss Dark Nights.
“Decay” is about a person who struggles desperately against illusions, not to fall into the abyss again, but fails. After the descent, an inventory reveals anger about always ending up in the same place, deep-seated, familiar pain, heartbreak, and fear of never healing.

These arising dangerous, eerie, and urgent moods fuel hurried, at times snapping, thumping beats and ominous warbling bass pulses that sway obsessively beneath storms of haunting, poignant synth strains and achingly reflective, frantic stabs, attacking angry, frustrated, doom-laden vocals with endless waves of dread, despair, and melancholy.
The Official Video by videomaker Antonio Colella shows The Way to Nowhere vocalizing “Decay” in two distinct settings that symbolically make visible the mental struggle of the lyrics. A dark, unclear, jewel-toned geometry covers the kaleidoscopic eyes of David before he finds himself trapped in a red corridor of confusion. Then, he appears, visibly shaken and frightened, in a bleak black and white forest where there is nowhere to hide. This hellish tension between being stuck in an inescapable, distorted maze and being exposed to an unseen menace seamlessly evoke the tragic ‘stranger in my own skin’ aspect of the soundtrack.
The Way to Nowhere‘s new single, “Decay”, featuring remixes by fellow labelmates Rome’s darkwavers This Eternal Decay and electro-industrial act Kurs, is out now on Swiss Dark Nights.
