Rybnik-based, young Polish Shoegaze guitarist and composer Dawid Bestry joins forces once again with the spellbinding vocalizations of Wiktoria Borecka for the intoxicating atmospheric rollercoaster ride of shimmery reverb, plaintive distortion, cathartic ethereality and aching introspection from the latest single “Monochrome.”
A desperate soul feels grey and longs for color amid fear and hope as blurry, distorted and slightly discordant, sharp guitar strains pour and painfully ring over a vibrant backing of droning bass pulses and trudging drum beats, that sway into stumbling trots, while beautiful, emotional female vocals, layered with cool ethereal cries, glide loosely through the storm with grace and harmony.
In the DIY video by Dawid Bestry, it will appear as if you are looking out the window of a moving car at a snowy pine tree-covered countryside. It’s cold, foggy and grey. With your finger, using the frosty condensation on the window, you write the intimate lyrics to “Monochrome.”
