Video Of The Day NEWDRESS
The veteran Brescia-based Italian Dark Wave trio formed in 2008, made of Stefano Marzoli (Voice, Synthesizers), Jordan Vianello (Drums), and Andrea Zagna (Bass, Electric guitar), foreshadow the September release of the band’s fourth studio album, “ADE [A DANCE ETERNAL]”, with a video directed by Riccardo Scalvenzi (Manifesto Collective) for the new single, “The Sun Will Go Down”, via Vrec Music Label.

Using Newdress’ native language with English undertones, the song dances in the shadow of the more melodically emotional and decadent shades of the Italian new wave from the 80s.
Gloomy, turbulent moods seep through rattling, thudding programmed beats that march steadily alongside deep, grumbling bass throbs, furrowed by pangs of glowing, melancholic synths, and trembling, pain-filled glistening guitar lines, rippling and ringing around devotional male vocals, achingly crooning, with falling echoes, about the inevitability of the sun going down.
In the paired visuals, shot by Riccardo Scalvenzi (Manifesto Collective) at Stone Venue, The Stone Pavilion in the Cave Park of Brescia, where the single cover artwork is taken, Newdress performs “The Sun Will Go Down” under an outdoor shelter near the woods at sunset. A transformative grey-scale filter changes from fuzzy to keen perception amidst inverted reflections and shapeshifting skies. The natural environment shifts from sunny with shadows to a cloudy rain-dropped reflection, whilst vision alters from clear, with an epic focus on the granular, to a blurry monochromatic rush, seamlessly symbolizing the turn in emotions and feelings expressed by the lyrics.
