New Age Healers, the Shoegaze / Psychedelic Rock Collective from Seattle, Washington, made of Owen Murphy (vocals, guitar), Jeramy Koepping (guitar, bass, VI, treatments, drum programming), Allen Murray (bass, vocals), Farkhad Saidmuratov (keys), and Adam LeVasseur (drums), build anticipation for the August 19th release of the album “Blowing Smoke Through the Choir” with a DIY video for the second single, “Lost It All.”

This second single is the product that came from sitting in a room with a guitar, both soaking in and ignoring the news. A song both personal and political. A song that finds the band chasing sounds in hopes of finding something new.

In “Lost it All”, the band do a great job molding their reverb-laced, inbred shoegaze roots with spirals of wistful, spacey psychedelic escapism accompanied by sad, lost male vocals, grounded by crunchy, jagged and hefty early-mid 90’s alt-rock distorted guitar textures, wishing for a floating trip to the sun, underneath pummeling, leaden, trudging swells of doom and gloom.

We were shooting video for “Lost it All” and all our ideas were turning out bad. Really bad, To be clear, they were my bad ideas. Our bass player Ilya, who was doing most of the shooting, commented during practice that he had accidentally shot 2-hours of video of his Rainier beer can, and thus the story of the life of this beer can was born. He lived, he loved, he visited many of our favorite spots in Seattle (KEXP, Life on Mars, Sunset Tavern), and he died on his own terms. And yes, he was delicious.Owen says

The paired visuals take a journey through Seattle and beyond under mostly sunny blue skies to sync with the expansion of the soundtrack. Strategic editing gives the clip a trippy psychedelic effect that flows blurrily through three screens with two different perceptions.

New Age Healers will celebrate the album release at The Sunset Tavern on Friday, September 11th with pals Bloococoon and Sun Atoms up from Portland.
