Video Of The Day KIRA AVALON
Formerly known as “Rioux Désolés”, Kira Avalon is the new Electro-Clash /Dark Wave stage name of the DIY musician and composer Domenico Cipolla, from Abruzzo, Italy, fresh from dropping an Official DIY Music Video for “Gone”, the first single from the anticipated debut album.
A stripped-down, visceral, genuine take on the ’80s UK dark post-punk, “Gone” sparks off eerie icy key melodies, crested by anxious pain, sharply resonating atop a mechanical trek of marching beats and a broody, sulky bassline that ceaselessly pulses underneath, to emotionally stretch with melancholic glowing synths around sad, numb male vocals, diverting to aching longing, whilst lost in a feelingless limbo with no need or desire to lend direction.

In the Official DIY Music Video, Kira Avalon delivers an intimate performance of “Gone” under shifting cold-and-hot color saturations. The journey begins at the foot of a daunting grey hillside before a building with a cross on top of a bell tower comes into view. The door is closed, and in the shadows, along with a small window and fastened wooden shutters. Further up the vertical incline, an open, moving horizon is blocked by a chain-link fence. A wonderful video full of symbolism and vulnerability that seamlessly brings the lyrical struggle of ‘what I want right now is gone’, into sight
