Video Of The Day The Violent Youth
Augsburg, Germany-based, Belarus-born artist Arthur Tsymbal AKA The Violent Youth returns, as announced, as a ‘one-man-band’ whilst keeping his latest mother tongue affair, with the new video for the moody and immersive Synth-Pop song “Туман | Tuman | Fog” taken from the new 3-track EP “Tuman.”
Whimsical furies drive marching and dancing beats, nervous droning synth melodies, minimal haunting reverberant guitar shimmers, and numb, mad, and somber vocals into an intense dark tunnel of fear, whilst swirling lights, racing thoughts, and moody, brooding energies stir an urgent restlessness around the poetic lyrics lost in anxiety, frustration, and disorientation at the hands of a never-ending fog.
The emotional video, directed by Arthur Tsymbal himself and Miriam Utzmann, with drawings by Laura Sattelmair, projects the dystopian sentiments of the soundtrack with an up close and personal dramatic performance interspersed with abstract and evocative drawings by Laura Sattelmair. Black and white photography extracts subconscious shadows of doubt and shame from spinning time-lapsed dimensions of fear, whilst nostalgic outdoor recreational venues bring a temperamental longing and sadness to the disenchanted outpouring of dread.
