Expertly crafted analog electronic-fueled dark post-punk, equally atmospheric, sober and sharp at the right points, that throbs incessantly on propulsive rhythmic patterns and ominously gloomy raw bass lines, layered with evocative, ethereal guitar inlays and glittering, plucked strobing synths, while trembling, dread-filled male vocals, haloed in sinister echoes, croon somberly with a deep sense of sadness before turning to an obsessive shadowy chant.

After a break, the longtime South American project led by Ali Said is back with a slew of singles to keep on viscerally exploring the darkness within. A stark, tightly wound, monochromatic post-punk sound built on unremitting whipcrack-driven drum machines, droning bass lines, and thorny, blistering guitars, carries cavernous, baritone vocals, lost in a pitch-black foreboding pool, underneath sinister stabs of pain and grief.

Brazilian 80s synthpop maniac churns out a full album in pure DIY spirit with all its strengths and weaknesses, which includes several compelling bittersweet moments to take the listener in a booming dancefloor-ripe whirlwind of a gritty and clanking industrial-charged retro rhythmic drive, layered with tingling and sharp melancholic synth riffs that crack and bounce through luminous undertones and dark edges, while propelling through an emerging glow of pain and catharsis. Fully emotional, yet not as raw and abrasive as most of the work, is the love song “Madame”, where powerful yet gentle heartfelt baritone adorations are set against a colorful, brooding instrumental backdrop of urgency and yearning, to implore ‘Oh, my lady, don’t leave me’.
