Started as the DIY collaborative solo music endeavour of Nantes-bred composer and guitarist Olivier Le Tohic in 2017, the Brittany ‘indie-gaze’ four-piece group, Trainfantome, also comprises Clovis Le Pivert (guitar, synth), Martin Bonnet (bass) and Thibaut Pellegrini (drums), has unveiled the third excerpt, “Bleeding At The Door,” from the forthcoming new album “Constant Farewells,” due on May 22, 2026, co-released by Influenza Records, Flippin Freaks and Howlin Banana.
The Lorient/Nantes foursome channel emotionally draining melodic sensibilities through flurries of gritty guitar distortion, drawn from the raw feelings and angsty emotions of ’90s/early 00s alternative rock, into a shapeshifting and erratic emo-meet-shoegaze sound, stained with elements of indie rock, grunge, and black metal.

Rich in powerful and visceral melodies, the song, about transgenerational trauma, lilts ceaselessly between unflinching instrumental tension and heartrending introspection, reflective intensity and heartfelt impetuosity.
Steady shifting drums and raspy snaking bass lines churn relentlessly under the gripping shifting dynamics between rampant outbursts of resonant, incandescent Mould-esque guitar riffage, ringing atmospheric interludes and vibrant cathartic build-ups, alongside restless, emotional male vocals, and swelling expressive backups, to rise into raw, pain-filled screams under searing layers of scratchy, chaotic reverberations.
