WL//WH Track Of The Day: ESTELA GRIS “La Cura”

Track Of The Day ESTELA GRIS

Fresh from releasing the latest single “La Cura”, their first of the year and the 6th since 2024, Estela Gris is an up-and-coming duo from Murcia, Spain, made up of Sefi and Marta, who explore Post-Punk, New Wave, and Synthpop patterns, building nostalgic, straightforward, and emotional atmospheres bristling with raw urgency and melodic immediacy.

The lyrics pour out like a thick, urgent mantra—almost spoken—in a narrative that feels both familiar and piercing. It’s that point of no return where, after days of aimlessness, nausea becomes a shield, and pain becomes the only tangible truth. It’s no longer about getting lost, but about looking straight into the eyes of those waiting outside for your fall.

“La Cura,” a song about growth, self-discovery, and healing through a lens of understanding, pain, and strength.

bounces and resounds across the vibrant floor with an edgy post-punk spleen and icy new wave flair, driven by a tight slapping drum machine alongside crisp bass pulses, that provide a gloomy round tone to a swirling mass of washy frigid synths, and a distorted, thorny guitar obsessively aching and whining, to billow in subtly abrasive, reverb-drenched shimmering sheets, enshrouding confident, downtrodden, slightly angry female vocals, turning to a rapid spoken word chorus of exhausted euphoria.
