WL//WH Track Of The Day RESPUESTA AUSENTE
After last April’s clanging, droning, and driving first introduction, “Lujuria,” Respuesta Ausente, the newcomer Post-punk duo from San José, Costa Rica, drops their second single, “Miseria,” which slinks into a minimalistic, colder and more atmospheric approach to the dark fringes of 80s UK post-punk/wave, seamlessly cloaked in oppressive lingering shadows.
“Miseria”, lyrically, is about losing oneself to the torture and enslavement of mere existence, wherein confusion, alienation, and numbness take hold,
edgily rushing with wheezing, clattery mechanical beats along with a raw, sonorously murmuring, brooding bass line, surrounded by a hauntingly evocative, nervous fluttering of trembling, glaring synths that hopelessly resonate atop quite spoken, depressed vocals, gently releasing anxiety a short distance.
