WL//WH Track Of The Day : OVEF OW “Hootie Hottie”

Track Of The Day

I’ve always loved the unmistakable sound of the Farfisa organ, not only because is ‘a product of Italy‘, but also integral of many favourite records from late 70’s/80’s bands like Blondie, B-52’s, Suicide, Squeeze, Human Switchboard, Talking Heads and more recently Stereolab, Broadcast, Spiritualized and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, to name a few…

A refreshing and heartfelt throwback to the ’80s new wave scene with nods to 60’s garage rock, through a DIY punk attitude, represent the new wave/post-punk/surf sound of Chicago based 4-piece Ovef Ow, made of Marites Velasquez– (Bass, Vox), Sarah Braunstein (Drums, Vox), Kyla Denham (Synth Scientist, Vox) and Nick Barnett  (Guitar, Vox).

The band is going to drop the new 4-track EP “Crash The Party” this February 1st, on limited edition 7″ colored vinyl or cassette, through Midwest Action.

Keep up with Ovef Ow :
