Video Of The Day  DEAD DECADE

London, UK-based Dead Decade, led by singer/producer Tommy Anarchic, delivers forward-thinking Darkwave overflowing with an intense array of Shoegaze, Techno, Post-punk, and Industrial elements.

The band has dropped an ‘on location ‘video, by Tommy Anarchic himself, shot during a 2022 visit to the Salton Sea in the Colorado desert of Southern California, for the opening song, “Something More”, from last February’s debut 6-track EP “24 HR Last One Left.”

A wasteland of empty dreams begets distorted mists of alienation and loss to prompt angsty buzzing swarms, pounding drum beats, droning magnetic chugging bass line undulations, sinister circular whooshing effects and buzzing excruciating guitar riffs, to surround lost, aching vocals, with a desperate longing for “Something More.”

Post-Apocalyptic visions capture the worst ecological disaster in California’s history, AKA The Salton Sea, to sync seamlessly with the emotional desolation of the soundtrack. Graffiti-strewn, dilapidated, and abandoned architectures and vehicles set the bleak dystopic backdrop for an emotional black-clad performance by Dead Decade, giving the viewer access into a hidden, Post-Industrialized United States, where toxic desert dusts from carelessness and greed corrode the minds of citizens with nihilistic feelings of melancholy and dread.
