WL//WH Video Of The Day: PILOD “Anticipate The Fall”

Video Of The Day  PILOD

In anticipation of a third album scheduled for this Fall, Pilod, the quirky alternative guitar rockers from Leuven, Belgium, active since 2013, made of Frédéric Baervoets (guitar, vocals), Timo Jacobs (drums), Christophe Vandewoude (bass, backing vocals), and Wouter Voorspoels (guitar), have released a video, directed by Robbe Maes, for the latest single “Anticipate the Fall”.

This track shows an unpolished side of Pilod — touching on change, chaos, and finding strength in the unknown. Let go, ride the turbulence, and come back stronger. Our collaboration with Jan Viggria (mix & mastering via Barnowl Productions / The Guru Guru) adds subtle depth to the track, while the video by Robbe Maes takes it a step further — sharp, unconventional, and (as always) with a bold wink.

The song delivers a powerful message “let go, move with the flow, and stay resilient”, driving, relentless, harsh resonant auras of humming wriggly bass impulses, stumbling drum beats and rambling layers of restless, vibrant pain-fueled guitar riffs, to sway and resonate with seething distorted intensity around deeply emotional vocals, struggling to gain strength, through the chaos of change, into a scary unknown.

The symbolic video by Robbe Maes captures Pilod engaged in a rusty workout and training session at the colorful and atmospheric Sint-Jozefsinstituut in Betekom gymnasium. The clip features Gonzalo Vega as the prized pupil and Carlo Vranken as a no-nonsense coach who teaches the crew how to “Anticipate the Fall” when jumping from the top of wall ladders.

Keep up with PILOD:
