WL//WH Premiere OPPENHEIMER MKll

Established in 2012, Oppenheimer MKll is the collaborative endeavour of renowned UK-based minimal synth singer and songwriter, Andy Oppenheimer, formerly one-half of the iconic ’80s synth duo Oppenheimer Analysis, and British-born, Vienna-based electronic musician and producer Mahk Rumbae, known as one-half of the mutant synth-pop duo Mitra Mitra, for the techno projects Codex Empire/Antechamber and a member of the prominent 80s UK experimental industrial act, Konstruktivists.
The duo herald their sophomore album, “Embrace the Dark”, slated for release on June 30th, via Dutch independent label Wave Tension Records, with an Official Video for the pounding paranoid lead track, “Oh, My Mind is a Storm”, WL//WH is pleased to premiere.

The lyrics of “Oh, My Mind is a Storm” convey the loneliness, sleeplessness, and tyrannical thoughts that occur when a person goes dark, into demon mode, and tries to wait it out until the dawn.
Brooding and tenebrous, the track steers the snappy surgical precision of tinny martial drum patterns, punctuated by rattling blows, along with a hypnotic warbling bass line, slowly swept by both icy and airy eerie analog synth drifts, surrounding softly sung, sad, male vocals soberly confessing, “Don’t come close…I bear a heavy load…Everything inside is bursting to be born.”
In the Official Video, Oppenheimer MKll delivers an intense, soul-stirring performance of “Oh, My Mind Is a Storm” under a cloak of transformative darkness. The duo both wear black sunglasses while a pale blue light flickers across strategic locations of their faces. At times, one side is completely covered in shadows, seamlessly emphasizing the abysmal mindset described by the soundtrack.
Oppenheimer MKll‘s sophomore studio album, “Embrace the Dark”, will be released, in Vinyl 12″ & Digital formats, on June 30, 2026, via Wave Tension Records. On pre-order on the label’s Bandcamp.
