Familiar faces of the blog, Holograph is a Cape Town, South Africa-born Post Wave band, formed in the doom and gloom of the 2020 lockdown, relocated North to Amsterdam in 2023, to enhance their musical pathway with fresh sources of inspiration and further startling nuances.

The now four-piece, comprised of founding members Warren Fisher (Guitar) and Ines Southscka (Vox & Synth) aligned with local musicians Calvin Siderfin (Bass) and Lewis Kerins (Drums), after dropping last April’s s/t Titled single collection, is back on track, writing, rehearsing and looking to the band’s debut show in Winter 2024, not before digging out the archived EP from its last days in South Africa, featuring a varied pallet of Post-punk adjacent tracks, due to release in Winter 2024/5.

You can still hear the old Cape Town bandmates Mitch (drums), Joao (bass), Desmond (guitar), and Jess (synth, backup vocals) on the Official Video for “Green Sky” since it was recorded back in 2022/2023 at Bellville, Bermuda and Milner Studios. It will be the first single on the forthcoming, above mentioned, EP The Manor, to be released through the newfound affiliated label The Good Times Co., WL//WH is pleased to premiere.

In this ethereal ode, where surreal realms and haunting monochrome landscapes unfold, a tale of reconnection with the verdant spirit of nature amidst the clamour of a tech-wrought world.

The song explores bewitching arcane and highly evocative dreamy folksy alchemies at the crossroads of Mazzy Star, Beach House, Tarnation and Opal, to unravel a palpitating ground of slow-slung, stumbling percussions and humming bass pulses, layered by sways of thrumming strums, and insistent, airy sparkling six-string arpeggios, surrounded by glowing keyboards and warm nostalgic organ-like motifs, achingly waltzing with atmospheric earthy vocals of heartfelt frustration and hope, trying tirelessly to find the elusive “Green Sky” transcendence.

Gaze upon dreamlike vistas, where the boundaries between reality and illusion blur, and find yourself swept away by harmonies both haunting and sublime. Green Sky is a call to reflect, to wander, and to rediscover the wonder of the natural world.

Romantic and timeless, but for the insinuated modern twist, the Official Video filmed by Mark Roush, Ines Soutschka, and Warren Fisher creates a dreamy Arthurian vision to explore love, harmony, and Fate. Imagine going back in time, to an enchanted forest where two people, dressed in folksy medieval chain mail and swords, hang out and reflect on life. Brilliant sun rays pierce the tall elegant trees to illuminate a beautiful woman who direly prays for a lost magical connection that appears to be all around her.
