PICKS OF THE WEEK:
  • London based shoegaze /post-punk /neo-psych /indie rock band Monochromatic Visions “Lost” the second single from the forthcoming album “REFORM”

Driving and magnetic kraut/noise/psychedelic rock-inflected ghostly ride from the London-based ItaloGreek duo propelled by rattling steady motorik beats that expand disconnected mesmeric dimensions through droning spirals of fuzzy guitar distortions and menacing shadowy synth swathes, whilst quivering, sturdy and chugging bass lines dangerously undulate and seeth beneath, shaking the underbellies of distant airless cries of lost obsessions and fatal crimes.

  • Norwegian Shoegaze /Psychedelic band from Hustadvika, Rancho Relaxo ”Alone With You” from the upcoming 11th album “SPIRIT OF ECSTASY”

The Norwegian DIY underground combo, at their 11th LP!, suggests their distinctive personal cure to mitigate the impending doom from the period we’re living coloured by a trippy heady concoction of 60s glittering jingle jangle, 90s shoegaze reverbs and all-rounded atmospheric neo-psychedelia amidst folk, spacey and raga streaks. The first preview delights us with a bittersweet wandering flow of glittering radiant jangly melodies that sway and tinkle around urgent windswept memories of breathless heartfelt vocals releasing poetic lyrics of longing into intense aching swells of love.

  • Boston, Ma psych /dream pop /shoegaze band Emerald Comets “Memory Factory” (single) from the upcoming album

Boston‘s 4-piece explore ’60s-tinged dreamlike psychedelic shores, emphasised by the use of the swelling retro symphonic inflexions of a mellotron, with unevenly scattered drum beats to underpin obsessive droning and shimmering guitar melodies that bleed meandering aching ripples of hypnotic distorted memories into tormented anxious ghostly breaths of brooding fantasies through a bitter recollection of heady love.
