Far from the Horror-Dark-Synth-Wave workouts of several years ago, Barcelona‘s, now Berlin-based, electronic artist builds upon his consolidated streak of dance-compulsive Darkwave style, exploring the strobing darkness with more subtlety and sinuosity, yet never to the detriment of his signature frantic full-bodied energy, fueled further by the haunting vocal magnetism of S Y Z Y G Y X, slicing through a merciless sinister interlocking of rattling, and thumping drum programming with ominous droning basslines, stabbed by shivering dissonant synthetic frequencies, to surround restless breathy vocals, steeped in ‘torment and ecstasy’, begging “Destroy Me,” into relentless outbursts of dark desire.
