WL//WH Video Of The Day Shadowban
The multifaceted Greek-born artist Night in Athens’ Tina Boleti teams up again with her longtime collaborator, UK producer and sonic alchemist Underthinker, in the intriguingly unpredictable Dark Wave/Witch House/Noise-laced Electronic project Shadowban.
The pair are fresh from dropping the first “mutant transmission from the dark fringes”, the compulsively mesmerising synth-driven debut single, “Adrania / Inertia”, paired with a glitchy DIY video clip.
Dangerously spellbinding and darkly danceable, the song, about the mind remaining still or inert while a demon chases and torments a running black winged figure, builds a buzzing and glittering vortex of racing lashing beats, droning bass pulses, and icy wistfully anxious shattered synth stabs, to sway hypnotically around raw, impending female vocals, crying out “Adrania.”
In the DIY video, you will see a close-up of Tina Boleti as she sings “Adrania” under a transformative overlay, syncing seamlessly with the disorientation of the soundtrack. Red and blue psychological dimensions merge with negative light frequencies and multiply identities, as Boleti’s matter-of-fact but strong expression stays still through a hazy disconnection.
