WL//WH Video Of The Day: MEYVERLIN “Scars”

Video Of The Day  MEYVERLIN

Nearly one year after the 7″ single “Casanova”, Meyverlin, the trans-Atlantic Francophone Electropop outfit made up of  Thierry Haliniak (My Raining Stars) and Philippe Lavergne (Freluquets, Qu4tre, Herzfeld, Bassmati, Country Club, Walter & Lavergne), with the lyrical contribution of Gilles Ramey (rue de Montmorency, Auteuil Rouge), announce their forthcoming sophomore album, “Therefore”, via Brest-based independent label Too Good To Be True, through the brand new track “Scars” paired with the video curated by Amandine Shoe.

As we have so pleasantly come to expect from Meyverlin, through nuanced echoes of Trembling Blue Stars and Electronic, breezing emotive auras of lush, vibrant and sparkling wistful guitar melodies, slicing lustrous riffs and glowing keyboard overlays, float on the heady backing bounce of rubbery elastic bass lines, and brisk drum beats, augmented by Balearic-tinged crisp rolling percussions, to surround deeply felt sentimental vocals, letting go of a loved one to reclaim themselves, with rich emotional textures of sadness and pain.

An imaginative visual by Amandine Shoe, combines red, white, and black computer-generated geometric overlays with introspective shadowy suggestions to sync with the wavy flow of the soundtrack.

Meyverlin‘s sophomore 10-track album, “Therefore” (TooGood 26), will be on preorder, in CD & Digital formats, starting from Friday 3rd May on Too Good To Be True label’s Bandcamp, to be released a week later on May 10, 2024
