Bone Pixie, the North Yorkshire, UK solo project by the forest creature known as Fawn Drăculești, after more than three years of dormancy, unveils the first excerpt, “Limerence,” from a fourth album that shall be cursing the airwaves within the coming months.
The single summons the spirit of classic grief-stricken gothic rock, cloaked in a brooding darkwave aesthetic, while the lyrics explore the anguish and destruction caused by another’s instability.
Builds on ominously grumbling, gloomy bass lines cut by crisp, whipping programmed beats to fuel an excruciating dramatic aura, carved obsessively by pained waves of weeping synths and effect-filled, sharp bleeding guitars, spilling forth on haunted vocals shifting to high-pitched, wailing cries, agonizing over a loved one’s involuntary romantic obsession amidst sad, muffled spoken words.
