funsover, the Berlin, Germany-based Alternative Rock quartet made up of Enrico Baldarelli, Otso Latva-Somppi, Pilar Sarchione, and Andrew Ward, prepare for the September release of the debut 6-track EP, “Wisdom Teeth,” with a DIY Official Video for the third and final single, “Ten.”
The lyrics discuss feeling alone, with a fearful chatter inside the mind, before relief comes in the form of a friendly hand.
Sparkling airy Midwest emo/indie-rock leanings meet with grungy blasts of shimmery shoegaze textures, resulting in a vibrant emotional wandering of steady tumbling drums and low tremoring bass throbs, swaying beneath intricate, twinkling guitar riffs, poignantly weaving and scraping toward insistent, reverb-laden bursts of resonant ringing distortion, to carry restless, dreamy female vocals through tumultuous contrasting moods of gloom and hope.
In the visuals, filmed by themselves, Sofia Koivusaari, and Daryna Budylo, colorful yet blurry scenes of trees and flowers set the calm, upbeat backdrop for ‘live’ snapshots of the band as they hang out and rehearse “Ten.” Editor Otso Latva-Somppi combines hazy, slowed-down outdoor shots with fast-paced social interactions to seamlessly display the rift explored by the soundtrack.
